YouTube Vanced to be shut down 'due to legal reasons'
Washington, March 14: The popular YouTube Vanced application will no longer be available for Android users as it is being shut down by the creators. According to The Verge, Vanced's creators have decided to shut down the app in the coming days for "legal reasons." The popular community modification of the YouTube app is shutting down after the developers received a legal threat from Google. The developers of YouTube Vanced were handed a cease and desist letter that demanded that the logo be modified and that all references and links to YouTube be removed. "Vanced has been discontinued. In the coming days, the download links on the website will be taken down. We know this is not something you wanted to hear but it's something we need to do. Thank you all for supporting us over the years," read a tweet by the official handle of the Vanced application. Meanwhile, the currently installed versions will work just fine, "until they become outdated in 2 years or so." Also Read | Russia-Ukraine war: Can China mediate peace between Russia, Ukraine?
