Washington: 24-year-old Indian student brutally stabbed in US gym, faces grim survival odds
Washington, November 01: A 24-year-old Indian student, Varun, is currently fighting for his life in the wake of a horrific attack that occurred in Valparaiso, Indiana. Varun was brutally stabbed in the temple with a knife by his assailant, 24-year-old Jordan Andrade, inside a public gym on a Sunday morning. The motives behind this shocking incident are still under investigation, as reported by NWIU Times.
After the attack, the authorities promptly apprehended the assailant, who is now facing charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and attempted murder.
The severity of Varun's injuries necessitated his transfer to a hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Regrettably, the medical prognosis is grim, with reports suggesting Varun has been given a minimal chance of survival, ranging from zero to five per cent. His condition remains serious following the brutal assault.
The assailant, Andrade, has provided his account of the incident to the police. According to Andrade, he had requested a massage that fateful morning and entered the massage room, where he encountered Varun, a person he did not know. Andrade described Varun as "a little weird" and perceived him as a potential threat. In response to this perceived threat, Andrade claimed that he reacted in what he considered the "right way," as detailed in a charging document.
The investigation into this shocking and tragic incident continues, and Varun's family and loved ones anxiously await any signs of improvement in his condition.
