Donald Trump Triumphs, returns to White House as 47th President
PTC News Desk: Donald Trump emerged as winner of US presidential elections. He will be assuming office for the second time after securing 277 electoral votes while Kamala Harris secured 224 votes.
In a close knit competition, the results were in contrast with what was being predicted. In a historic win Trump was lingering over the 266 mark for a longer time, however he was declared victorious after he crossed a sweeping 270 mark defeating his opponent and Vice President Kamala Harris.

In the nation's history, after WWII, Trump is the first president to assume office in second tenure after conceding a defeat in the first place.
Trump addressed supporters early Wednesday morning from his Election Night headquarters in West Palm Beach, Florida, amid narrowing chances for Vice President Kamala Harris' path to victory. Joining Trump on stage were Sen. JD Vance and members of Trump's family. Emphasising a significant Republican comeback, Donald Trump stated that the party had regained control of the Senate and described the moment as the beginning of "the golden age of America," driven by what he called an "unprecedented and powerful mandate."
Historic comeback after indictments, wounded campaigns
Race to White House was nothing short of valorous for Donald Trump. From indictments to surviving assassination attempt, Trump's campaign was marked by several adversaries throughout. On July 13, a teleprompter saved his life when a bullet pierced his right ear. Trump dodged the attempt and arose as a stronger leader.
Donald Trump is also a first convicted felon to rise as President and sentencing for his conviction is due on November 26 in the New York "hush money" trial.
At 78, Trump is the oldest person to be elected president — breaking the record held by President Biden, who withdrew from the 2024 presidential race in July amid questions about his age and competency.
