Thailand mishap: 22 killed, several missing in explosion at fireworks factory
Thailand mishap: In a horrific, dreadful and massive explosion at least 22 killed, 10 missing and several injured in an explosion at a Suphan Buri fireworks factory in Thailand on Wednesday.
The dreadful incident occurred at village Moo 3 in Tambon Salakhao of Muang district in Thailand at around 3:30 pm (local time). The debris due to the force of the explosion, spread over a radius of 100 metres, with human remains scattered everywhere.

As per the reports, approximately 20 workers had reported for their morning shift at the factory. The factory owner, who was not among the casualties, had left to deliver fireworks to customers when the incident occurred, as confirmed by Thongsuk Suenui, the Deputy Chairman of Tambon Salakhao Municipality.
The factory operated from a farmhouse, serving as a storage facility for gunpowder and other raw materials used in the production of fireworks. The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation by authorities.
Thailand Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, presently at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, was briefed on the incident and has called for a prompt and thorough investigation.
According to records, 24 explosions took place at fireworks factories and warehouses in Thailand over the past 15 years between 2008 and 2023, with each incident causing extensive damage, including deaths and injuries.
