PTC Web Desk: Slovakia's Prime Minister Robert Fico was injured in a shooting incident on Wednesday afternoon and subsequently hospitalised.
According to reports from TA3, a Slovakian television station, Robert Fico, aged 59, sustained a gunshot wound to the stomach after four shots were fired outside the House of Culture in Handlova, located approximately 150 km northeast of the capital. The Slovalia Prime Minister was reportedly engaged in a meeting with supporters at the time of the incident. A suspect has been apprehended, and the area has been cordoned off by the police.

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Lubos Blaha confirmed the occurrence of the incident during a parliamentary session, subsequently adjourning it until further notice, as reported by the Slovak TASR news agency.
President Zuzana Caputova condemned the attack on the Prime Minister as "brutal and ruthless." She expressed shock and extended her wishes for Fico's strength during this critical moment, hoping for his prompt recovery from the assault.
