Punjab's Hoshiarpur Sikh man fatally injured in US road accident
Washington, October 16: A devastating head-on collision in Indianapolis has claimed the life of a 42-year-old Indian-American man, as confirmed by the local police.
The victim, Sukhwinder Singh, succumbed to his injuries on October 13 while receiving treatment at a hospital. The accident unfolded in the rural area of Greenwood, near Indianapolis. Sukhwinder Singh, originally hailing from Punjab's Hoshiarpur district, had made his way to the United States at the age of 15 in 1996.
Local law enforcement received reports of a crash involving severe injuries on the evening of October 12. Upon arrival, they discovered two vehicles involved in a head-on collision, with three individuals trapped inside.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the driver of a Honda Accord, Sukhwinder Singh, had veered into the opposite lane, resulting in the collision with a Cadillac Escalade, as stated by the police.
Tragically, Sukhwinder Singh lost his life due to the injuries sustained in the accident. He leaves behind his wife, a 15-year-old son, and a 10-year-old daughter.
Sukhwinder had been a resident of Indianapolis since 2010. The driver of the Cadillac, a 52-year-old man from Indianapolis, and his 52-year-old female passenger suffered severe injuries and were subsequently transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital for medical attention, according to the police.
