Punjab youth robbed, killed in Canada; family demands justice
Hoshiarpur, January 3: A pall of gloom spread over Punjab's Chandeli village after the news of the demise of a 28-year-old youth in Ontario, Canada surfaced. The deceased has been identified as Mohit Sharma.
According to the information received, Mohit was murdered on the night of December 31 around 2:30 a.m. with the intent of robbery. The robbers took everything found on his body, including jewellery, a phone, a purse, an ATM, and money.
Seeking justice, the family members of the deceased have reached out to Union Minister Som Prakash, demanding that the culprits be identified and punished.
Deceased's father Tirlok Nath Sharma informed that Mohit had gone to Canada for higher education five years ago and used to work as a manager in a company.
He stated that he received a phone call from Canada informing him that Mohit's body had been found under mysterious circumstances and that his jewellery and purse had gone missing. He stated that Mohit Sharma was his only child.
He also denied that his son was murdered with the intent to rob and demanded an investigation to uncover the true reason for his death.
