Pakistan bomb blast: Bomb blast kills 11 coal miners in Pakistan's Balochistan

Pakistan blast news: At least 10 coal mine workers were killed when an explosion hit their pickup truck in the Shahrag district of Harnai, Balochistan, on Friday, according to officials.

Harnai Deputy Commissioner Hazrat Wali Kakar said the blast occurred due to an improvised explosive device (IED) planted in Coal Mines Area PMDC 94. The bodies of the victims and the injured were transported to the Shahrag Basic Health Unit.


The police reached the scene promptly, and an investigation has been initiated to know the details of the incident. Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind confirmed that initial findings suggest the explosive device was placed on the roadside.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti condemned the tragic incident and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives. He ordered the best medical care for the injured and reiterated his commitment to eradicating terrorism. Bugti stated, “Those who harm innocent citizens will face strict consequences. We will not allow enemies of peace to succeed in their malicious intentions.”

He said the Balochistan government was taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of its citizens, pledging that those responsible for the attack would be brought to justice.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also condemned the attack and offered his condolences to the bereaved families, reinforcing that perpetrators of such heinous acts "do not deserve any leniency."
