OpenAI CEO Sam Altman accused of sexual abuse by sister, slapped with lawsuit

PTC News Desk: OpenAI CEO and co-founder Sam Altman has been accused for sexually abusing his siter Annie Altman and a lawsuit has been filed against him for the same. Annie Altman herself filed a lawsuit accusing her brother of sexually abusing her over a nine-year period.

In her lawsuit, Annie Altman claimed she was sexually abused between 1997 and 2006 - a charge called by the OpenAI CEO "utterly untrue".

The lawsuit, submitted to the US District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri claimed the abuse took place at their home in Missouri and the ordeal began when she was only three years old.

The filing claims that the abusive activities took place "several times per week," beginning with oral sex and later involving penetration. Ann said that abuse caused her "severe emotional distress, mental anguish, and depression," effects that she claims persist to this day.

Similar allegations were made by Ann in 2021 when she went public with the accusation but did not take any legal action.

The CEO of OpenAI, which developed ChatGPT, has denied the allegations and posted a statement on X that has been signed by his mother, Connie, and younger brothers, Max and Jack.

"Our family loves Annie and is very concerned about her well-being. Caring for a family member who faces mental health challenges is very difficult," the statement said.

"Despite this, Annie continues to demand more money from us. In this vein, Annie has made deeply hurtful and entirely untrue claims about our family, especially Sam. We've chosen not to respond publicly, out of respect for her privacy and our own. However, she has now taken legal action against Sam, and we feel we have no choice but to address this," the statement further reads.
