North Macedonia: 51 killed, over 100 injured in night club fire, toll likely to rise
PTC News Desk: At least 51 people have been killed and more than 100 have sustained severe injuries in a devastating fire at the Pulse nightclub in Kocani, North Macedonia in the early hours of Sunday.
The blaze erupted in the early hours of Sunday in the town, located about 100 km east of the capital, Skopje.
Several videos of the incident have been doing the rounds on social media where nightclub engulfed in flames with thick smoke rising into the night sky. The media reports suggests that the deadly fire claimed 51 lives and injured more than 100 while the exact toll has not been ascertained yet.
So far 1500 people were present at the nighclud during the incident for an event, he venue remained ablaze for hours after the initial outbreak.
Video footage seems to capture sparks from the stage setting the ceiling ablaze, with the fire quickly engulfing the club. Authorities are anticipated to carry out a detailed investigation into the incident.
