Nepal floods: The death toll from rain-triggered floods and landslides in Nepal rose to 192, with 30 people still missing, officials said. Large regions of eastern and central Nepal have been inundated since Friday, with some areas experiencing flash floods.

According to Rishiram Pokharel, spokesperson for the Ministry of Home Affairs, as many as 94 people have been injured in flood-related accidents. Search and rescue operations are still ongoing with all security agencies mobilised, he said, adding that the Nepal Army has airlifted 162 people from all around the nation.

The Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force soldiers have rescued over 4,000 persons impacted by floods and inundations. Pokharel said.

He said that all necessary aid, including food grains, had been given to those rescued.

Social workers have given meals to 400 people in the Balkhu neighbourhood on the outskirts of Kathmandu, according to a spokeswoman.

Efforts are underway to clear national highways that have been obstructed owing to flooding, landslides, and inundation. According to Pokharel, transport has resumed on the Tribhuvan Highway, the key land route connecting Kathmandu to neighbouring districts.

The floods caused damage to at least 322 houses and 16 bridges in Nepal.
