Nepal Earthquake: A pale of sorrow, grief and devastation descended the world's most breath taking landscapes in Nepal. 

In a devastating turn of events, a severe and massive magnitude of the earthquake on the Richter Scale was recorded at 6.4 and the epicenter of the quake was in Nepal at a depth of 10 km killing 140 and several others injured. 


The heart-breaking scenes unfolded in Nepal as several houses collapsed or sustained substantial damage in the aftermath of the earthquake, leaving survivors huddled in dread. Nepal is surrounded by sirens of ambulances and emergency alarms.

After deadly earthquake jolted Nepal, India has released an emergency contact number for Indians who require urgent assistance.

India in Nepal took to their X handle (former Twitter) and wrote, "Alert Emergency Contact Number for Indians requiring assistance due to the recent earthquake in Nepal: 977-9851316807 MEA India."

 Following the earthquake of 6.4 magnitude, National Center for Seismology (NCS) Director Dr OP Mishra said that two important factors for the severity of the occurrence in the Himalayan region were the time and structure of buildings in the area.

The NCS Director also said that it is not the earthquake that kills people, but the kind of structure in the region.

Following the massive earthquake of 6.4 magnitude, Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has arrived in Jajarkot to meet the affected people.

Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' expressed grief over the human and material damage caused by the earthquake. Taking to X, the Nepal Prime Minister's Office stated, "Honorable Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda" has expressed his deep sorrow over the human and material damage caused by the earthquake at Ramidanda in Jajarkot at 11:47 on Friday night and has mobilized all 3 security agencies for the immediate rescue and relief of the injured."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expresses grief over the loss of lives and damage due to the earthquake in Nepal. He tweets, “India stands in solidarity with the people of Nepal and is ready to extend all possible assistance. Our thoughts are with the bereaved families and we wish the injured a quick recovery."

The tremors of the deadly earthquake in Nepal were also felt in several districts of North India including Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar.
