Missing Titanic submersible: Pilot Stockton Rush's wife is descendent of Titanic victims, says NYT report
PTC Web Desk: Rescuers are making the last desperate push as the final hours of oxygen on missing Titanic submersible are ticking down. Lost aboard the vessel is pilot Stockton Rush, CEO of US-based OceanGate Expeditions, the company leading the expedition, and his passengers are British adventurer Hamish Harding, Pakistani father-son-duo Shahzada and Suleman Dawood, and a Titanic expert Paul-Henry Nargeolet.
As per reports published in the New York Times (NYT) on Wednesday, Stockton Rush is married to a descendant of two first-class passengers who died when the Titanic sank in 1912 after hitting an iceberg.
Stockton Rush is married to Wendy Rush. The Titanic submersible vessle went missing on Sunday as it descended with him and four others to visit the Titanic wreck off Canada's coast.
Who is Wendy Rush?
Wendy Rush is a great-great-granddaughter of the retailing magnate Isidor Straus and his wife, Ida. They were among the wealthiest persons who were on the Titanic's maiden voyage when it sank.
As per the report in the New York Times, the tale of Isidor Straus, co-owner of Macy's department store and his wife Ida, is recounted in James Cameron's blockbuster movie 'Titanic'.
Only few hours of oxygen left in missing Titanic submersible vessel
According to the US Coast Guard, there is only less than 4 hours of oxygen remaining on the submersible.
