Mexico robbery: Indian national shot dead, another injured

Homicide of the Indian citizen:  A pall of gloom descended India after the news of death of youth in Mexico reached country. 

In a heart-wrenching incident, an Indian national living in Mexico was brutally killed another injured after were robbed by unknown miscreants in Mexico City.

The horrific incident took place on Saturday, when two Indian nationals were robbed of $10,000 by the robbers. According to the sources, robbers exchanged the money at the International airport of Mexico City. 

As per the media reports and CCTV footage, the two national Indians employees of IT Company were followed by assailants along the busy avenue in the City and demanded to Indians to stop their car.  

When the person driving the car refused to comply, one of the assailants opened fire, killing him and stole the cash from the residents. After being shot, the driver lost control of the vehicle, which zigzagged along the street as the other individual tried to run away from the attack.

In the wake of horrific murder case in Mexico, Indian authorities demanded that their Mexican counterparts to find the thieves as soon as possible.

The Indian Embassy in Mexico expressed grief over death of Indian national and demanded Mexican authorities to apprehend the culprits at the soonest.

Taking to their X handle (formerly known as Twitter) Indian Embassy in Mexico wrote, In an extremely regrettable & heart-wrenching incident,an Indian national living in México has been tragically shot dead. Embassy & @IndianAssoMex are in touch with his family & extending all support. We're demanding Mexican authorities to apprehend the culprits at the soonest.”

 

In another tweet, they wrote, In the extremely regrettable & tragic death of an Indian national shot by unknown assailants in Mexico City,the Embassy is in constant touch with the law enforcement agencies to apprehend the culprits at the soonest & give justice to family of the victim.”

Notably, at least 8,000 Indian citizens live in Mexico for better economic prospects, or specialized skills that are in demand in Mexico and to pursue higher education and gain academic and professional experience
