PTC News Desk: Anurag Bajpayee, the Indian-origin CEO of the clean water startup Gradiant, has reportedly been arrested in the United States over allegations of soliciting services from upscale brothels.


According to a report, Bajpayee is one of several individuals listed in a court filing accused of spending hundreds of dollars per hour for sex-related services.

The elite client list included doctors, lawyers, public officials, and government contractors, according to the report. The investigation revealed that the men allegedly paid up to $600 per hour for sex with predominantly Asian women.

According to prosecutors, Mr. Bajpayee was part of a select clientele that included professionals such as doctors, lawyers, public officials, and government contractors. The investigation revealed that these men allegedly paid up to $600 per hour for encounters with predominantly Asian women, many of whom were believed to be victims of sex trafficking.

While some employees have called for his resignation, Gradiant has continued to support him, releasing a statement reaffirming its trust in the legal process and its dedication to the company’s mission. "We believe in the justice system and are confident that this will resolve favorably in due course. Unrelated to this, Gradiant will continue to pursue excellence in technological innovation and to strive towards our mission to ensure clean water for all society," the company wrote in a statement.
