Punjab-origin man stabs wife to death in Canada, calls mother to inform
Canada : After the tragic and heart-breaking tales of several Indians across foreign shores, another horrific incident from Canada came to limelight which gripped tensions, scare and chaos worldwide.
In a recent horrific, dreadful and spine-chilling incident, Ludhiana-origin man allegedly stabbed his wife to death in Abbotsford, Canada, late on Friday night.
Just one week after arriving in Canada, a 50-year-old man from Punjab’s Ludhiana fatally stabbed his wife in Canada and then video called his mother to inform her of the incident.

The victim, identified as Balwinder Kaur (41) from Mallah village in Jagraon, was reportedly stabbed by her husband Jagpreet Singh, also known as Raju (50), a resident of Kanchan Colony on Pakhowal road in Ludhiana.
The dreadful incident unfolded on March 15 at the 3400-block of Wagner Drive and victim’s Balwinder Kaur body was discovered from her home at British Columbia's Abbotsford with critical stab wounds.
Speaking to media sources, Balwinder Kaur’s sister Rajwinder Kaur said, “After stabbing my sister to death, Jagpreet made a video call to his mother back home in Ludhiana.”
As per the statement by family of victim, the couple frequently quarrelled about financial matters. Couple tied knot in 2000 and had two children – a daughter Harnoorpreet Kaur (22) and a son Gurnoor Singh (18).
However, family of Jagpreet Singh refuted Rajwinder's claims, stating, "We are still unsure about what happened between my brother and his wife that night. However, neither he nor our family ever mistreated Balwinder Kaur. Following the incident, my brother contacted our mother to inform us that he had accidentally injured his wife and was seeking forgiveness.”
In Mallah village of Ludhiana's Jagraon, Balwinder Kaur's family is deeply shocked and sorrow. The sudden loss of a loved one, especially a daughter, has deeply shaken the core of their being, leaving behind a void that seems impossible to fill.
