Khalsa Aid International dispatches team from Iraq to quake-hit Turkey
Turkey, February 9: Serving Humanity in quake-hit Turkey, Khalsa Aid International dispatched a 3-person team from our Iraq chapter led by Aid Coordinator Sozan Fahmi to provide emergency support on the ground.
The team embarked on its journey by road from Iraq to Turkey and reached their destination on Tuesday.

Khalsa Aid International is working continuously and is on the road to get to the location to set up the kitchen to provide hot meals to those affected by the devastating earthquake.
Khalsa team also carried truckload with around 3,500 blankets to distribute as those who have lost their homes are now battling freezing conditions as the temperature is expected to remain very cold in the coming days.

Keeping in view the risk assessment and critical situation of people of Turkey, Khalsa CEO and other officials also visited Turkey to assist with the aid efforts.
“Our hearts go out to the families who have lost loved ones in this devastating earthquake,” said Ravinder Singh, CEO of Khalsa Aid.
“We are committed to providing support and aid to those affected and will continue to work closely with local organisations to ensure that their needs are met,” he added.
Taking to their Twitter handle, Khalsa Aid International also published several videos depicting various segments of devastating condition of Turkey.
Notably, the death toll from the earthquake that jolted Turkey and Syria now crosses 15,000-mark.

Turkey also declared three-month state of emergency in the quake-hit regions. Turkey is observing seven days of mourning after the devastating quakes. As per the news report, over 13 million people have been affected by earthquakes.
