Jeju Air plane crash: How two crew members miraculously survived disaster

PTC News Desk: Jeju Air plane crash was one of the deadliest aviation disaster in South Korea killing all 179 passengers on board. South Korea has vowed rigorous investigation into the incident to ascertain the cause of the accident. While the disaster killed all the passengers, two crew members miraculously survived.


The survivors, a man and a woman, were among six crew members aboard the Jeju Air Boeing 737-800 when it skidded off the runway, crashed into a wall, and burst into flames on Sunday morning. 

The crew members identified as 32-year-old Lee and 25-year-old Kwon were rescued and pulled from the trail section which is considered the safest section in the commercial flights. 

The tragic turn of events that unfolded has left the survivers shrouded in shock and trauma. However doctors have asserted that they are undergoing treatment and are out of danger. 

Preliminary investigation suggested that the crash took place due to a landing gear malfunction.
