Israel to soon attack Iran? Strike plan revealed in US leaked documents

Certain documents from US intelligence have been leaked hinting at Israel's response to Iran after Tehran fired a slew of ballistic missiles following killing of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon.

The documents appeared on the messaging app Telegram reportedly contain the assessment of the US National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency on Israel's military plans. White House has expressed dire concerns over the leak. Speculations rife that Iran could have hacked into the system to obtain highly confidential documents. Though it is not yet clear that weather it was a leak or a hack.

If documents are to be believed, the entire row can account for major embarrassment for the United States as the images clearly shows how Washington spies on its allies as much as its enemies. As far as concerned with the authenticity of the documents, analysts have described them as 'credible'. Military analysts say the phrasing used in the headings looks credible and is consistent with similar classified documents revealed in the past. The documents were possibly meant for the Five Eyes, the intelligence alliance of the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Israel's plan of action as per US docs

The documents are a classified assessment of the States of Israel's preparations to target Iran. it reveals that Israel is planning to carry out an expanded version of its ALBM attack. Contrary to the speculations of Israel targeting Iran's oil facilities, the documents suggest that Iran's military bases are on the radar, though the timing and identity of the targets were not disclosed. According to the papers, IRGC and Basij could be Israel's new targets who are known to have trained and equipped Iran's proxies in West Asian countries like Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen and Syria, including Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthi rebels, who target Israel.

The timing of Israel's attack still remains questionable, however there is a fear in US that Israel's attack before US presidential elections could sabotage the entire process

Though officially still a non-nuclear nation that uses atomic energy for peaceful purposes, Iran has the capability to enrich uranium to weapons grade as per Israeli assessments. Israel is a nuclear power, but does not publicly acknowldedge it, and there's no certainty on the exact nature or number of its arsenal.
