The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said that it "disclosed intelligence information and numerous documents found in Gaza confirming military affiliation of six Al Jazeera journalists in Gaza with Hamas and the Islamic Jihad terrorist organisations, including personnel tables, lists of terrorist training courses, phone directories, and salary documents for terrorists".

Citing documents, IDF said that Hamas' terrorists reside within the media network. The journalists have been identified as Anas al-Sharif, Hossam Shabat, Ismael Abu Omar, and Talal Arrouki, Ashraf Saraj and Alaa Salameh. While refuting the allegations, Doha based media network has said that they categorically reject the Israel's projection of their journalists as members of particular militant groups based on fabricated evidence.
