Indian national stabbed to death in Canada's Ottawa, suspect arrested
PTC News Desk: An Indian national was stabbed to death in Canada's Rockland area near Ottawa. The local authorities have taken the suspect into custody.
The Indian embassy in Canada confirmed the incident on X and said it was in touch with the victim's family. "We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of an Indian national in Rockland near Ottawa, due to stabbing. Police has stated a suspect has been taken into custody. We are in close contact through a local community association to provide all possible assistance to the bereaved kin," the post read.
Authorities have not disclosed the cause of death or whether any charges have been filed.
The reports suggested that one person was found dead this morning in Clarence-Rockland while another was arrested. The Ontario Provincial Police has warned Rockland residents to expect an increased police presence in the area.
