India advises citizens to leave Lebanon due to rising tensions in Israel conflict
PTC News Desk: India has once again urged its citizens to leave Lebanon amid rising tensions, as reports indicate that Israel is preparing its military forces for a potential invasion of the country. In an updated advisory released on Wednesday, the Indian embassy in Beirut strongly recommended that Indian nationals refrain from traveling to Lebanon due to the escalating situation in the region.
The advisory specifically stated, "All Indian nationals already in Lebanon are also strongly advised to leave the country. Those who remain for any reason are urged to exercise extreme caution, limit their movements, and maintain contact with the Embassy of India in Beirut through our email ID: cons.beirut@mea.gov.in or the emergency phone number 96176860128."
This warning comes as Israeli forces continue their air strikes across Lebanon, which have reportedly resulted in over 620 fatalities and thousands of injuries. Israel's military chief, Herzi Halevi, has communicated to troops that these strikes will persist to dismantle Hezbollah's infrastructure, and preparations for a potential ground offensive are underway.
