'I feel I'm no longer human': Japan man spends Rs 20 lakh to transform into wolf
PTC News Desk: A Japanese man is living his childhood dream by transforming into a wolf. According to the UK-based The Times, Toru Ueda, an engineer, spent three million Yen (Rs 20 lakh) on the custom wolf suit. The suit was delivered to him earlier this year, and he was pictured wearing it often.
His story is once again going viral.
Zeppet Workshop, a specialist production and modelling company that creates costumes and figures for the cinema and television industries, designed the suit. The wolf costume was created in seven weeks by four employees. Despite the high price, Ueda refuses to wear it to costume events, claiming that walking in the wolf suit would be uncomfortable.
The 32-year-old, on the other hand, claims he wears it at home to relax and forget about his problems.
"When I wear my costume, I feel like I'm no longer human," Ueda said in January to The Times.
"I'm free of human relationships. All kinds of troubles, related to work and other things - I can forget about them," he further said.
The man described wearing the outfit as a "powerful experience" for him. "When I look in the mirror, I see a wolf, and that is very moving. I'm not a werewolf - that's a kind of monster, and I am not a monster," Ueda added.
According to The Times, during talks with the Zeppet team, Ueda stated that he wanted the human-sized suit to be as lifelike as possible while also allowing him to move normally.
The same maker also created a suit for another Japanese man who wanted to look like a dog. The hyperrealistic costume transformed the man, whose identity is unknown, into a Collie, a breed of herding dog.
The man recently released a video of himself for the first time going out in public. Bystanders were taken aback by the human collie.
