George Floyd-like incident: Black man dies as Ohio cop kneels on his neck

George Floyd-like incident: The Ohio Police have released body camera footage of a black man who died after repeatedly telling officers that "I can't breathe" as they pinned him down to arrest him, according to WKYC. The incident has stirred the memories of the killing of George Floyd.

The Canton Police Department released a video on Wednesday depicting the death of Frank E. Tyson, a 53-year-old East Canton resident.

The video shows officers arriving at the scene, confronting Tyson and attempting to take him into custody. The video shows the officers struggling to arrest Tyson before one of them restrained him by placing his knee on the back of Tyson's upper body. Following that, Tyson was heard repeatedly saying, "I can't breathe."

According to the video, after his last words, he lay motionless on the floor for more than five minutes before police checked his pulse, according to WKYC.

However, the encounter took place on April 18 when two officers responded to an AMVETS post on Sherrick Road Southeast in Canton Township.

According to police, Tyson fled after crashing his car near Canton's eastern limits.

The officers involved were identified as Beau Schoenegge and Camden Burch from the traffic bureau. According to WKYC, both were placed on paid administrative leave in accordance with department policy, and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is currently investigating the case.

Authorities first acknowledged the incident on Friday last week, stating that officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash in the 1700 block of Sherrick Road Southeast around 8:15 p.m.

Officers discovered a sheared power pole in the roadway and the vehicle nearby before being directed to the AMVETS, where Tyson was located.

According to the release, Tyson struggled with officers before being apprehended, and officers noticed he was unresponsive "shortly after securing him in handcuffs."

Tyson died at an area hospital after receiving CPR and multiple doses of Narcan.
