Donald Trump to take oath as 47th US President today, Dr. S Jaishankar to attend swearing-in ceremony
PTC News Desk: The US President-elect Donald Trump is all set to return to White House as he will take oath as 47th President of the United States. For the first time in many years the inauguration will be held indoors owing to the freezing weather in Washington DC.
Donald Trump is expected to sign 100 executive orders after taking office. Meanwhile MEA Dr. S Jaishankar will be representing India and will be in attendance to witness Trump's swearing-in ceremony.
The 78-year-old Republican leader will be administered the oath of office by US Chief Justice John Roberts at noon (EST) (10:30 pm IST) at the United States Capitol Rotunda in a star-studded event that will be attended by several high-profile dignitaries.
Along with Trump, JD Vance will also be sworn in as Vice President of the United States following which the former will deliver his inaugural address, wherein he will outline his vision for the country for the next four years.

Meanwhile, Eric Garcetti has also bid adieu as 26th US Ambassador to India. Reflecting on his time in the country, the outgoing US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, in his farewell bid, spoke about the strong bonds forged between the two nations during his tenure as the 26th US envoy.
In a heartfelt video message posted on his social media, Garcetti expressed his deep connection with India, a country he first visited as a child and later as a student, acknowledging the warmth and hospitality extended to him by the people of India, highlighting the diverse experiences he had during his time in the country.
