Donald Trump leads early in Republican Presidential polls

PTC News Desk: In a significant development, Donald Trump emerged victorious in the Republican primary held in New Hampshire on Tuesday, surpassing his rival Nikki Haley and advancing toward clinching the nomination for a potential second term in the White House. Despite ongoing vote counting, Trump's win in this crucial primary underscored his dominance in the race.

As the former president aimed to secure a rematch with Joe Biden, his sole remaining challenger, Nikki Haley, faced an uncertain fate in the wake of the New Hampshire results. While the race continued, Haley, the former UN ambassador during Trump's presidency, emphasised that the competition was far from over and cautioned her supporters that Democrats preferred facing Trump in the electoral battle.

Haley expressed the belief that Trump was perceived as the only Republican candidate vulnerable to defeat by Joe Biden. Despite a strong turnout in New Hampshire and hopes for an upset, initial tallies indicated Haley's defeat, casting a shadow on her campaign.

The 52-year-old Haley, who had questioned Trump's mental fitness and warned of potential chaos in another Trump presidency, struggled to gain significant traction in New Hampshire. The Biden campaign acknowledged Trump's apparent dominance in securing the Republican nomination, expressing concern over the MAGA movement's influence within the party.
