Donald Trump attacked : FBI identifies shooter as 20-year-old man Thomas Matthew from Pennsylvania: Report

PTC News Desk: The shooter who attempted to kill former President Trump has been named as Thomas Matthew. There are many unanswered questions about the 20-year-old's past, motivations, and any possible links that would help explain his conduct as detectives piece together the events leading up to the incident.

Matthew was allegedly standing on a manufacturing plant roof when one of his rounds allegedly struck Trump in the ear.

Who was Donald Trump’s shooter?

The NY Post reports that Crooks, a Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, resident, has been identified as the attacker who violently attacked former President Donald Trump while he was speaking at a rally. The presidential campaign rally was in full swing at Butler Farm Show grounds when the gunman reportedly set up shop 130 yards from the stage.

Subsequently, he was eliminated by Secret Service snipers who discovered an AR-style weapon nearby. After then, the Secret Service said on social media that Trump had been taken to a nearby hospital without incident. Statements from an FBI agent claim that the reason for what officials have called a "assassination attempt" remains unidentified.

The 20-year-old, who was fatally shot by Secret Service agents, was reportedly from Bethel Park, a small hamlet located approximately 40 miles south of the rally site. We still don't know, though, why he criticised Trump. Bloodshed resulted after Crooks' injuries to Trump's ear, which also killed an uninvolved party and gravely wounded two more rally attendees. The FBI is looking into the situation right now.

'Too early’ to tell if gunman acted alone

Furthermore, law enforcement officials have declared that they are still unable to verify whether the attack on the former president Donald Trump was executed by a "lone wolf."

It's too early to say that, according to Lt. Col. George Bevins of the Pennsylvania State Police, as reported by NBC. Although our investigation is still ongoing, we have tentatively identified one shooter. Before we can say with certainty if it was the work of a lone gunman, we are investigating a number of leads."

"President Biden spoke with former President Trump this evening. Additionally, Butler Mayor Bob Dandoy and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro were addressed by the President.

"The President is going back to Washington, DC, tonight. Homeland security and law enforcement officials will provide him with an updated briefing tomorrow morning at the White House, according to the statement.
