'Canada not for sale': Trudeau's former ally Jagmeet Singh slams Donald Trump over tariff threats
PTC News Desk: Amid Donalt Trumps's US-Canada merger claims, Justin Trudeau's former ally and New Democratic Party's leader Jagmeet Singh came down heavily on Trump over his persistent tariffs threats.
Jagmeet Singh took to his social media and posted a video message titled, "I have a message for Donald Trump. Our country (Canada) is not for sale. Not now, not ever."

Singh said that Canadians are proud people, they are proud of their country and ready to "fight like hell to defend it." In a message to US President-elect, while boasting the diplomatic ties between both US and Canada , he said that, 'We're good neighbours. But, if you pick a fight with Canada - there will be a price to pay.'
The NDP leader said: “I lived across the country and I can tell you Canadians are a proud people. We’re proud of our country, and we’re ready to fight like hell to defend it. Right now, with the forest fires, ravaging homes, Canadian firefighters showed up. That’s who we are, we show up and support our neighbours."
Trump has proposed the neighbouring country to become the 51st state of the United States, mocking Prime Minister Trudeau by calling him "Governor".
