Brazil Plane Crash: All 62 people onboard killed in a tragic incident

Brazil Plane Crash: A regional turboprop plane carrying 62 people crashed near São Paulo, Brazil, on Friday, resulting in the deaths of everyone on board, according to local authorities.

Videos shared on social media show what seems to be an ATR-manufactured aircraft spiraling out of control before crashing behind a cluster of trees near residential homes, followed by a massive plume of black smoke.


Officials from Valinhos, close to Vinhedo, confirmed that there were no survivors. However, only one house in the nearby condominium complex was damaged, and no residents were injured.

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, addressing an event shortly after the incident, expressed his sorrow and requested a moment of silence in memory of the crash victims.

The airline Voepass reported that the plane had departed from Cascavel in Paraná and was en route to São Paulo's main international airport when it went down in the town of Vinhedo, approximately 80 kilometers (50 miles) northwest of São Paulo.  

The plane also struck several houses. Visuals surfacing on the Internet showed that the Voepass plane departed from Cascavel and was en route to Sao Paulo. Shortly after, it lost signal around 1:30 pm local time.
