PTC News Desk: Today is the day when Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, who is leading Bangladesh's interim administration amid ongoing instability, will enter office. The eighty-four-year-old is in route to Dhaka after spending time in Paris for a medical procedure. The nation's military head announced that the caretaker administration would take an oath of office at 8:00 p.m. today.

He told reporters at the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, according to Reuters, "Yes, I'm looking forward to going back home and seeing what's happening there and how we can organise ourselves to get out of the trouble that we are in."


As Sheikh Hasina hides in an undisclosed place, the mystery surrounding her resignation as prime minister of Bangladesh and her escape to India with her sister continues. According to sources, the Indian government is trying to get the leader of the Awami League Party asylum in a European country.
