PTC News Desk: On Sunday, two separate bus accidents in Pakistan resulted in the tragic deaths of at least 37 people, including 11 pilgrims, with several others injured.

The first incident occurred on the Makran Coastal Highway in Balochistan province, where a bus carrying 70 Shia pilgrims from Iran to Punjab veered off the road. The Makran Coastal Highway stretches 653 km along Pakistan's Arabian Sea coast from Karachi in Sindh to Gwadar in Balochistan.

The majority of the passengers were from Lahore or Gujranwala. Police sources reported that approximately 35 individuals sustained injuries in this accident. District Commissioner (DC) Lasbela, Humaira Baloch, confirmed that a rescue operation is currently underway.

In the second accident, a bus carrying 35 passengers plunged into a ditch in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Qamar Nadeem of the Edhi Foundation, which operates the largest private ambulance service in Pakistan, reported that 26 people were confirmed dead and three others were injured. The accident occurred in a mountainous region, and the cause is still under investigation.

Local residents are involved in retrieving bodies from the wreckage, while police and rescue teams are en route to the scene. Deputy Commissioner Sadhanoti, Umar Farooq, indicated that the deceased include children, women, and men from the Sadhanoti district.

These accidents follow a recent tragedy where a bus carrying Pakistani pilgrims crashed in Iran, resulting in 35 deaths and 15 injuries.
