Militant attack: 10 cops killed, several injured in attack on Pakistan police station
Militant attack: As many as ten policemen have been killed, six injured in a militant attack on a police station in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Dera Ismail Khan district.
As per the police, terrorists attacked the police station with heavy weapons at 3 am in the Daraban tehsil.
As per the sources, the injured were transferred to DHQ Hospital.
The assailants targeted the police station using grenades and intense gunfire from all directions. Although the police counteracted, the terrorists managed to escape under the cover of darkness, reported the law enforcement agency.
The police have sealed off the area and initiated a search operation to apprehend the escaping militants. A quick response force, backed by additional reinforcements, has also arrived.
In recent news, the media reports highlighted a surge in terrorist attacks in Pakistan, recording 93 incidents in January 2024, resulting in 90 fatalities and 135 injuries.
Additionally, 15 individuals were reportedly abducted during the same period, based on data released by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), an Islamabad-based think tank.
