Adding, the World Health Organization (WHO) said that countries with robust health emergency preparedness infrastructure responded quickly to control the spread of COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the World Health Assembly charted course for COVID-19 response and global health priorities.

The WHO said that the coronavirus pandemic can be defeated with "science, solutions and solidarity" even as it warned countries not to backslide on critical health goals.
WHO, responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, stated that it is a sobering reminder that health is the foundation of social, economic and political stability.
