Viral Video: Mizoram CM's daughter assaults doctor, father apologises
Aizawl (Mizoram), August 21: Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga issued a public apology after a video showing his daughter Milari Chhangte assaulting a doctor at a clinic in Aizawl went viral on the internet.
The incident is said to have occurred last Wednesday when Milari was asked to make an appointment with the dermatologist prior to her visit to the clinic. Milari was seen walking up to the doctor from a door and hitting him in the face in the viral video. A man was then observed restricting her movement and carrying her down the stairs while holding her hands.
According to reports, the doctor asked that the Chief Minister's daughter make an appointment before coming in for the check-up.

Following the incident, CM Zoramthanga turned to Instagram on Saturday and posted a public apology letter signed by himself and his wife, declaring that his entire family has "nothing to say" in defence of his daughter's behaviour towards the doctor and apologising to both the doctor and the public. He stated that he would never defend her conduct.
However, the assault on the doctor prompted complaints from members of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Mizoram, who wore black badges to work.
