US approves Covid-19 vaccine 'Pfizer' for kids between 12 and 15 years of age
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorizes the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use in adolescents (12-15 years) in another action in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
Pfizer-BioNTech is the same COVID-19 vaccine that was being administrated to people above 16 years. It will be delivered in two separate shots of primer and a booster.

The trial involved 2,260 participants. It is worth mentioning that none of the participants contracted Covid-19 while 16 among those given a saline placebo tested positive.
Janet Woodcock, acting head of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), called the emergency use authorisation a “significant step” in a fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

Janet said that it allows for a younger population to be protected from Covid-19 bringing the situation closer to returning to normalcy and to ending the coronavirus pandemic.
As per the report, more than 152 million Americans have received at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine. Reportedly, 57 percent of the eligible population of above 16 and 46 percent of the total population have been administered vaccines.
US President Joe Biden said that this was a promising development in a fight against the coronavirus. “If you are a parent and want to protect your child, or a teenager who is interested in taking the vaccine, today’s decision is a step closer to that goal,” he added.
