UP school girl dies after 'adverse reaction from Covid-19 vaccine'
Garhmukteshwar (UP), March 31: A 16-year-old girl student from Uttar Pradesh's Garhmukteshwar died allegedly after taking the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine. As per information, the victim (name withheld) was a student of Adarsh Kanya Inter College, Garhmukteshwar, Uttar Pradesh.
On January 7 this year, she was administered the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine. While talking to our correspondent, the victim's father, Pramod Kumar, alleged that after the first dose, his daughter fell ill. She was taken to a private doctor in Meerut and it took about 15-20 days for her to recover. However, when she went to school, she was administered the second dose of the vaccine. She again fell ill and had to be hospitalised.

When contacted, Principal, Adarsh Kanya Inter College, Gargi Chauhan said the victim's parents had not informed them in writing about the adverse reaction their ward had on taking the first dose.
However, the girl's father claimed that his daughter had informed one of her teachers about the adverse reaction she had after taking the first vaccine dose. He claimed that his daughter showed reluctance in taking the second dose, but the school administration did not pay heed to her request.
"After taking the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine on February 18, my daughter fell ill. She was rushed to PGI, Rohtak, Haryana, where she remained in ICU. However, she died on March 29," alleged the girl's father. The girl's father Pramod Sharma has accused the school administration of negligence that led to his daughter's death. The victim's family has now decided to lodge an FIR against the school management.
