Shocking! UK's Birmingham city centre reports multiple stabbing
In a shocking incident, several people were reportedly stabbed at Birmingham city centre in the United Kingdom on Sunday.
The West Midland Police said in a statement that "We are aware of a number of injured people, but at the moment we are not in a position to say how many or how serious. However, all emergency services are working together at the scene and making sure that those who are injured receive medical care.
"This has been declared a major incident," the Police stated. As per the report, there were several people who were seated at outdoor tables eating and drinking on Saturday evening before the incident took place. The streets had already been closed to traffic due to the coronavirus restrictions.
A club promoter in the area said she was having drinks with colleagues after her shift when a number of fights started breaking out.
The investigation is still on to establish what has happened. The police said that it would not be appropriate to speculate on the causes of the incident.

"Your safety is our priority. We are now reviewing our policing across the city and will make any necessary changes. You may see a greater police presence in the area," the police said. It further added, "We would urge you to remain calm but vigilant and to stay away from the area."
