UK govt aims to end COVID-19 restrictions from this date
In a major development, the UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Monday said that the government was aimed to end all the COVID-19 restrictions from July 19.
Boris Johnson said that the development will eliminate mandates to wear masks in public places, social distancing rules, and work-from-home recommendations, a report stated.

The UK PM further noted that COVID-19 vaccines help to prevent people from developing serious coronavirus symptoms.

While hospitalisations and deaths will continue to rise, he insisted that it is likely to be much lower than during the peak of the coronavirus last autumn.
He also urged people to be cautious and responsible. "This pandemic is not over yet," he added. We can't simply revert instantly from Monday, July 19 to normal life as it was before COVID-19 had hit the world, he said.
Meanwhile, the government has recommended the wearing of face masks in crowded indoor areas. However, some experts have warned that lifting COVID-19 restrictions in the UK will be risky at a time when the virus is spreading.
The UK witnessed its daily case count top 30,000 in recent days, amid the spread of the Delta variant.
