Zomato agent delivers food on horse amid fuel shortage

Zomato agent on horse: A video showing a man galloping on the streets of Hyderabad carrying a bag with Zomato's logo has gone viral. The video comes at a time when long queues at petrol pumps were seen amid a truck driver protest against the new hit-and-run law.

The Zomato delivery agent arrived on horseback at Chanchalguda, which is located next to the Imperial Hotel.

The man was seen waving to the public as he arrived on horseback following long lines and the closure of petrol pumps as a result of the truckers' protest.

The delivery agent can be heard in the video telling a passerby that he chose to arrive on horseback to deliver the food after the pumps ran out of petrol.

When asked what had happened, the horseman replied, "Petrol nahi mila bhai. Teen ghante line me khada raha. Zomato se nikal gaya..petrol nahi mila.(There was no petrol. I waited in the queue for three hours. I left after taking the order but couldn't get the petrol).

Long lines spilt onto Hyderabad's main roads on Tuesday as a large number of motorists gathered at petrol and diesel filling stations, causing traffic jams in several places for some time. According to police, the traffic jam was under control by the evening.

"There is (fuel) availability. People are concerned that it may not be available due to truck driver agitation, so they are flocking to petrol pumps in large numbers, resulting in queues that spilt over onto the roads, causing traffic jams at first," a senior police official said.
