Paris Paralympics 2024: Google is celebrating Paris Paralympics 2024 with a series of animated Doodles, making fresh cartoons every day. Today's Doodle celebrates wheelchair tennis by featuring Google's now-signature Paralympic-themed birds.

Doodle shows two bird athletes attempting to pull an ace on one other against a backdrop that resembles the perfect Parisian gardens of Jardin du Palais Royal or Jardin des Tuileries.

Wheelchair tennis matches are taking place from August 30 to September 7 at Roland Garros Stadium, famous for its iconic clay courts. The sport features singles and doubles events in men's, women's, and quads categories.

The National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) have strict guidelines for athlete participation, with a maximum of eleven qualification spots available per NPC. This includes up to four male and four female athletes for singles events, three for quad singles, two teams for men's and women's doubles, and one for quad doubles.

These slots are allocated directly to individual athletes rather than committees, and all players must be ranked on the Wheelchair Tennis Singles World Ranking list. Furthermore, athletes must have competed in at least two World Team Cup events between 2021 and 2024, with one of those appearances being in either 2023 or 2024.
