Mumbai’s dabbawalas dress like Diljit Dosanjh to welcome singer ahead of concert
PTC Web Desk: Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh received a warm welcome from Mumbai’s iconic dabbawalas ahead of his performance in the city on Thursday. On Wednesday, dabbawalas, known as an integral part of Mumbai’s food culture, paid a unique tribute to the singer-actor by donning his signature attire — kurta, chadra, jacket, and gloves — as they made their deliveries across the city's iconic spots and neighbourhoods.
Reacting to the heartfelt gesture, Diljit Dosanjh expressed his gratitude, saying, “I’m truly humbled by this warm welcome from Mumbai’s dabbawalas. Their dedication and connection to their roots inspire me deeply. Mumbai is a city that embraces everyone with open arms. Your words are my strength. Punjabi Mumbai madhye ale oye.”
Diljit Dosanjh is set to perform as part of his Dil-Luminati concert in Mumbai on December 19, produced by Saregama Live and Ripple Effect Studio.
