The hoarding depicted Mia Khalifa holding a traditional milk vessel, a stark contrast to the usual religious decor associated with the festival.
The individuals who put up the hoarding also included their own photos, formatted like Aadhar cards. After the image of Mia Khalifa on the hoarding went viral, the police promptly took it down.
Local authorities have yet to clarify how Mia Khalifa’s image ended up on the hoarding, leaving it uncertain whether it was an intentional choice or an accidental mistake.
The Aadi Perukku, also known as Pathinettam Perukku, is a significant festival celebrated primarily in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It takes place during the Tamil month of Aadi (mid-July to mid-August) and is closely linked to the monsoon season and the worship of water bodies. Temples like Nagathamman and Selliyamman in Kuruvimalai were adorned with festive lights and hoardings for the celebration.
