An illegal momo and spring roll manufacturing unit operating in unsanitary conditions has been uncovered in Matour, Mohali. The facility, run inside a residential house, supplied these food items across Mohali and other nearby regions. The operation was exposed after a viral video surfaced, revealing unhygienic conditions and the use of spoiled ingredients.
Upon inspection, the authorities discovered that momos and spring rolls were being prepared in extremely unhygienic surroundings. Vegetables used in the food items were found to be rotten, raising serious health concerns. Moreover, the type of meat used in the non-vegetarian momos and spring rolls remains unidentified as no sampling or testing has been conducted so far.
Following the exposure of this illegal food manufacturing unit, workers involved in the production fled the site. The house owner’s whereabouts are also unknown. Shockingly, neither the police nor the health department has taken any action yet, nor have they collected food samples for examination.
Concerned residents of Matour have now locked the premises to prevent any tampering with the evidence and are demanding strict action against those responsible. The incident has sparked outrage, with locals urging the authorities to investigate and ensure food safety regulations are enforced.
