This vibrant doodle encouraged everyone to take a "leap," symbolising the leap year's commencement. The countdown animation exclaimed, "3… 2… 1… Happy New Year!", infusing a sense of sparkle and anticipation as the clock struck midnight.
Amid the global excitement, people worldwide contemplated their New Year's resolutions, aspiring for success, love, and all that lies in between. India, too, joined in the celebrations with exuberant festivities across cities. Goa adorned the sky with breathtaking fireworks, while Mumbai's iconic Gateway of India served as a gathering point for revelers welcoming 2024.
Reflecting on India's significant milestones in the past year, the nation hosted the G-20 summit and achieved a monumental feat by landing Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon's South Pole. Moments like the inauguration of Ayodhya's Ram Temple and the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections added to the anticipation for the fresh year ahead.

Interestingly, Kiribati, a country composed of 33 atolls, was among the first to bid farewell to 2023 and embrace 2024, courtesy of its location on the International Date Line. This historic line, established in 1884, delineates the official start and end of each day across the globe, serving as a pivotal marker for time zones worldwide.
