Blue-eyed Pakistani chaiwala opens cafe in London celebrating south Asian culture
Blue-eyed Pakistani chaiwala: Arshad Khan, the blue-eyed Pakistani tea seller who became an internet sensation in 2016, has once again captured headlines by opening "Cafe Chaiwala" in East London's Ilford Lane. The area, known for its Indian, Pakistani, and Bangladeshi population, now houses Khan's cafe, which embraces traditional South Asian elements, featuring truck art, a hand-decorated Vespa, and desi paintings on the walls. The interior exudes a blend of modernity and Dhabba-style aesthetics.
Expressing excitement about the cafe, Khan shared, "My visit is being planned, and I would love to brew tea for my loving fans. I have received thousands of requests for a London visit. Our first international Chai shop is now open on Ilford Lane, and the response is massive already. With the Durrani brothers, we decided to start from Ilford Lane due to the fact that it's home to a large number of Pakistanis and Indians who love Chai. I will be in London soon in person."
Cafe Chaiwala is meticulously designed to promote South Asian culture, offering an authentic ambiance and the true essence of Chai cafes.
Khan, who rose to global fame after his viral picture, received numerous modeling and acting opportunities. Despite venturing into the entertainment industry, in 2020, he opened his first cafe in Islamabad named 'Cafe Chaiwala Rooftop.'
The name 'chaiwala' holds a special place in Khan's heart, signifying an integral part of his identity and serving as a reminder of the incredible journey he has undertaken, as stated in his previous interview with Urdu News.
