New Delhi, December 09: The construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya has been progressing steadily under the oversight of the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust. With the grand opening scheduled for next month, the temple's sanctum sanctorum, where the idol of Lord Ram will be enshrined, is nearing completion.

Champat Rai, the Secretary of the Ram Mandir Trust, recently unveiled photographs showcasing the nearly finished sanctum sanctorum. In his update, he expressed, "The sanctum sanctorum of Lord Shri Ramlala is almost ready. Recently the lighting-fitting work has also been completed. Sharing some photographs with you."

The Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust also released images of the ongoing construction at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, revealing intricate carvings within the temple. Rai previously mentioned that the idol of Lord Ram, depicting his five-year-old form, is nearing completion. Crafted by three artisans on separate stone pieces, the idols are at 90% readiness, with finishing touches expected to take about a week.

He further detailed the installation plans, stating that the idol will occupy the 'Grabhgriha' on the ground floor, which is almost fully prepared. This readiness ensures a smooth 'Praan-Pratishtha' (consecration ceremony).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to attend the inauguration on January 22, with Vedic rituals scheduled to commence on January 16. The consecration ceremony will be led by Lakshmi Kant Dixit. To accommodate the influx of devotees, several tent cities are being erected in Ayodhya. The Sri Ram Janambhoomi Trust plans to accommodate 10,000-15,000 individuals, while local authorities are preparing for heightened security measures and logistical arrangements during the ceremony.
