Panchayat Elections 2024: Punjab govt reshuffles 11 IAS and 38 PCS officers ahead of Panchayat elections
PTC News Desk: In a significant administrative reshuffle ahead of the upcoming Panchayat elections, the Punjab Government on Wednesday transferred 11 IAS and 38 PCS officers. The move comes just before the implementation of the model code of conduct, signaling strategic adjustments in the state's governance machinery.
According to the official government order, several key IAS officers have been assigned new roles. Notably, Vijay Namdeorao Zade has been appointed as the Secretary of Expenditure in the Finance Department. Gauri Parasher Joshi has been posted as the Special Secretary for Personnel and Managing Director of the Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation (PSIDC).
Additionally, Sanyam Aggarwal, who was serving as Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation in Bathinda, has been reassigned as the Director of Higher Education.
The reshuffle is viewed as an important step in ensuring smooth governance and administration as Punjab gears up for the Panchayat elections. The large-scale transfer of both Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Punjab Civil Service (PCS) officers reflects the government's aim to strengthen its administrative setup during this critical election period.
