PTC Web Desk: 'Waris Punjab De' head Amritpal Singh continues to evade arrest as the search for the Khalistani sympathiser entered the sixth day on Thursday.

Making another startling revelation at a press conference on Thursday, Punjab Inspector General of Police said   Sukhchain Singh Gill said the  Punjab Police as well as Central agencies were on hot pursuit of Amritpal Singh. He said his last location had been traced to Haryana’s Shahbad, where he took shelter in a woman’s house on March 19 night.

The Punjab Police have also released the latest footage from March 20 showing the 'Waris Punjab De' head walking with umbrella in one hand and a bag in other. The footage is from Kurukshetra.

The Punjab's top cop said they had also arrested Tejinder Sing,  alias Gorkha Baba, of Khanna. Incriminating videos of arms training and firing by Amritpal Singh and his aides had been recovered. A hologram of ‘AKF’ had also been recovered.

He said after leaving Nangal Ambian gurdwara, Amritpal Singh took a motorcycle and reached Sheikhupura. From there, he crossed the Sutlej  along with one of his aides Babbal Preet on an abandoned railway bridge between Phillaur and Laddowal. From there, he reached Hardy's World. He probably took a truck to cross over to Haryana. A police team also reached Shahbad after a tip-off, but Amritpal had left by then. The woman, in whose house he had taken shelter, and her brother, who is SDM's reader, have been detained.

The IG said 207 arrests had been made so far, of which 30 were hardcore criminals. He said 177 were preventive arrests and they would be released in due course.
