Indian artist who went viral with saree hula hoop dance performs to Mukkala Mukkabla at Paris Olympics

PTC News Desk: "I know that if I had five hula hoops on me, I'd be a twirling Olympic logo," said Indian flow artist Eshna Kutty on Instagram in response to a video she shared. In the video, Kutty can be seen dancing in Paris to an Indian tune while juggling a hoop. Furthermore, she is doing it while wearing a saree, and the famous Eiffel Tower serves as the background. You did really read correctly!

In partnership with Olympic Khel, the IOC's official Indian account of the Olympic Games, the film features Kutty juggling a hula hoop while dancing to Mukkala Mukkabla in Paris. Kutty had on a blue blouse and a crimson saree. She accessorised her ensemble with a bun in her hair and yellow sports sneakers.


"What an honor it is to be in Paris with my hoops, cheering on our athletes at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris!" Kutty posted on Instagram.

Chitra Narayanan, Kutty's mother, also posted the video on X with the caption, "Countdown to the Olympics in Paris." With her hoops, my daughter Eshna Kutty is supporting the saree flow. India, go. "LetsMoveIndia" is one of the multiple hashtags she used to finish her article.

2024 Summer Olympics in Paris

The Paris 2024 Summer Olympics are scheduled to begin on Friday, July 26 and conclude on Sunday, August 11. It is anticipated that 10,500 competitors representing 206 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) will participate in the multisport competition.

Inspired by the ancient Phrygian headgear, the Olympic Phryge is the official mascot of the event. It is colored in the classic French tricolor of blue, white, and red, and it has the golden Paris 2024 insignia emblazoned over its chest. There will be about 10,500 competitors from 206 NOCs.

Tokyo, Japan hosted the Olympic Games for the last time in 2020. The next Olympic Games will take place in Los Angeles, California, from July 14–30, 2028; Brisbane, Australia, will host the Games in 2032.
