GATE 2025 registration opens today at gate2025.iitr.ac.in: Step-by-step application guide

PTC News Desk: Registrations for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 are set to begin today. Aspiring candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can register for the exam on the official GATE 2025 website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in. The exam dates have been scheduled for February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025, and will be conducted as a computer-based test (CBT). The examination centers are divided into eight zones across the country. Results for the exam are expected to be announced on March 19, 2025.

How to Register for GATE 2025:

Candidates must complete the application process online exclusively through the GATE 2025 official website. During registration, applicants will need to upload several documents to verify their eligibility and complete the application process. Eligibility Criteria for GATE 2025:

Before applying, candidates should verify that they meet the eligibility criteria for GATE 2025. Eligible candidates include those in their third year or higher of an undergraduate degree program, as well as individuals who have already completed a degree program in fields such as Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, or Humanities from a government-approved institution.

Exam Pattern for GATE 2025:

GATE 2025 will offer 30 different examination papers. Candidates have the option to choose one or two papers from the permissible combinations. The exam will last for three hours, and the scores obtained will remain valid for three years from the date of the result announcement.

The question format will include Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. The exam will assess candidates on various skills, including Recall, Comprehension, Application, Analysis, and Synthesis.

Importance of the GATE Exam:

The GATE exam is a comprehensive national-level test that evaluates a candidate's understanding of various undergraduate subjects across multiple disciplines. High-performing candidates can gain admission to Master's and Doctoral programs, potentially receiving financial support. Additionally, GATE scores are often used by educational institutions for admissions and by Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) for recruitment purposes.
